Montreal-based support phone line for people who are feeling suicidal, are worried about someone in their life who may be suicidal or those grieving the loss of a loved one to suicide. The website has resources to help understand, accept and move on from suicide. Call 1.866.277.3553

Trans Lifeline is a trans-led organization that connects trans people to the community, support, and resources they need to survive and thrive. They have a support phone line. Call 1.877.330.6366


Centre Interligne inc:

Interligne is a first response centre that provides help and information to those concerned with sexual orientation and gender diversity. Services are accessible 24 hours/day. Help, information and references by email, private chat, phone and text messaging at 1.888.505.1010

 

2S.L.G.B.T.Q.I.A.+ Resources

Montreal 2S.L.G.B.T.Q.I.A+ Community Centre:

The go-to resource for all of your 2S.L.G.B.T.Q.I.A.+ needs in Montreal.They host events in both English and French.


Fondation Émergence:

Fondation Émergence is a non-profit organization which fights against homophobia and transphobia. They offer workshops in French and wonderful programs for 2S.L.G.B.T.Q.I.A.+ seniors and caregivers.


Centre for Gender Advocacy:

An independent, student-funded, Concordia University organization, mandated to promoting gender equality and empowerment particularly as it relates to marginalized communities. They offer active listening services, trans advocacy, missing justice for MMIW and other projects.

Lesbian Resources

Centre de Solidarité Lesbienne :

French language group for lesbians providing services, information and events promoting lesbian’s health, safety and well being. Located in the plateau.


Québec Lesbian Network :

Inclusive network for 2S.L.G.B.T.Q.I.A+ women in Quebec. They do fantastic activism work promoting lesbian issues in Quebec.

Organization aimed at breaking isolation among trans identified people in Quebec. French language only.


Trans Care Plus

Community based resource by and for queer and gender diverse folk. TransCare+ operates as a knowledge hub, educational platform/service provider, and care collective.

2 Spirit Resources

2SIM (Two-Spirits In Motion) :

Nation-wide organization for 2 Spirit people that hosts national forums for the 2 Spirit community.

 

Older Adults Resources

 Eva Marsden Centre for Social Justice and Aging (EMC) :

Nonprofit community organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of low-income adults (50+) by encouraging mutual aid and civic engagement.

New Hope Senior Citizens’ Centre :

Charitable organization which provides a friendly, welcoming environment for members of the community aged 65 years and over. It offers assistance through a variety of social, recreational and educational activities, programs and services enabling seniors to break isolation and remain active participants in community life.

Centre for Research on Aging

engAGE aspires to change how we think about aging. Through innovative, collaborative, interdisciplinary research, engAGE researchers work with older people and their communities in order to address challenges and facilitate opportunities in all realms of life: social, physical, cognitive, emotional and political.

The Yellow Door :

Organization aimed at empowering older adults and young people to initiate and engage in community and creative projects that promote social inclusion, combat urban isolation across all generations, and spark positive societal change.

Action Centre-Ville :

French language social and service group for adults over 50 years old. They offer health, arts and informational activities as well as meal delivery and other services.
